If purchasing from a car dealership, enquire about the warranty length, and aftercare that is offered. Most good dealerships these days offer a comprehensive parts warranty for at least six months, as they want to provide a good service and build a reputation for trustworthy used car sales.

Some manufacturers and models of car are renowned for being reliable and long lasting, so it is worth conducting research on a particular car to find out a little more information about it. It is also a good idea to establish the average resale price of the car so a fair price can be judged.
