What To Make Of Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods seemed to have it all

Tiger Woods seemed to have it all. He was one of the best and most well-known sportsmen in the world. He had a beautiful family and had everything that one could seem to want but it wasn't enough. He had a string of affairs and this has tainted his whole reputation. Now he has missed the cut at a tournament. Could this be the end of Tiger Woods? Could we see him trade in his golf clubs to play bingo and drink iced tea?

Tiger Woods came to prominence at a very young age. In every sense he was a prodigy. He was thrust into the public limelight and excelled. He enrolled at Stanford and took their golf program to the top of the tree. He then turned professional and was immediately a hit. Some 15 years later he has won everything there is to win. Was it the fact that it all became too easy that Tiger looked elsewhere for challenges and conquests?

With someone of his fame, wealth and celebrity anything was possible. He could buy anything and anyone he wanted. Regular people have trouble arranging affairs as its hard to cover them up but Tiger was always on the road, always flying from somewhere or to another place. He was staying in hotels continuously.

So he would fly the women across and put them up in their own room. He didn't even have to arrange or organize it - that's what his assistants were for. The only way it could be traced to Tiger was his phone which he was using to text them. In the end his arrogance and hubris caught up with him.

Ellen may have had her suspicions but what was she to do? Being married to Tiger gave her a lifestyle that millions dream of. She was living the ultimate life apart from being married to a husband who was cold, aloof, a liar and a cheat; if she stood up for herself than she risked tearing it up and it all tumbling down. Ultimately though there are some things you can't put a price on - such as self-esteem.

Tiger seems to want it all though. Should we believe his apology? To many it didn't come across as sincere. What would have been more sincere and more honest would have been if he came out and said he was a philanderer and wanted to continue to live that life. He is a competitive man who has a massive ego - it makes sense that he would crave that sense of empowerment over women.

He doesn't have to be ashamed of it just so people will keep liking him and the corporate endorsements will continue to roll in. He has more than enough money - he doesn't need any more although it will be interesting to see how much Elin gets of it following the divorce. Maybe the problem with Tiger was that he tried to be too many things to too many people as opposed to being true to himself.
