There have been a lot stories out there about multi-millionaires who sit on the beach
every day doing absolutely nothing and spending their money like crazy as their internet website makes them a killing day in and day out. While it is true, there are some amazing online business models out there that can make you a lot of money passively, it is a little misleading because you do have to spend a lot of time and energy when you start them up.
If you want to have a website that pays you every month without you lifting a finger you are going to have to answer two fundamental questions. The first one being, where is the money going to come from? Are you selling your own product? Are you selling someone else's product and splitting the profits? Or are you selling advertising on your site?
Whatever you plan on doing stick to it. If you want your site to be on steady ground you will need to have something stable to sell. It would be a shame to get a site that gets a lot of visits but you cannot convert those sites to visitors.
The second question should be how are you going to get people to your site? Even if you have an amazing product that everyone wants, if nobody comes to your site nobody knows about it, and nobody buys it.
Are you going to be guest posting on different blogs in your niche and being active in major social media sites like twitter and youtube? Or will you simply go out and start buying ads and start tracking how much you are buying vs how much you are spending? You need some way to get your site's name out there so start thinking.
This is the just of how to start an online business. If you simply build a website and just forget about it don't expect much to come out of it. But if you put the work into it to make it grow there are a lot of great possibilities.
