What You Should Know About A Netbook

The netbook has fast become a best seller in the computer industry

. There are a number of reasons as to why this computer is popular. It is lighter and smaller than the normal computer which makes it easy to travel with. However this does not mean that there are no problems associated with it.

So what is a netbook really? To put it very simply a netbook is just a lightweight computer. A netbook will usually only weigh around 3 pounds or less. A screen of no more than twelve inches is another feature that is associated with netbooks. Windows and such like operating systems will be put on to a netbook but the processor speed will be lower.

It is now time to get to all the important parts because we know what a netbook is. Is it possible to substitute a netbook for a normal laptop or computer? No, not really. There are a few things that netbooks are unable to do due to their size. As they are small in dimension they do not have a disk drive meaning you cannot play CD's or DVD's on them.

Additional software and programs are another reason. Going on the internet and working on documents is possible but some software does not work well on netbooks. Graphic software that uses a lot of resources will have a problem. Online games like Counter Strike will also have a problem when run on this computer.

It is now possible to list some of the pros and cons since we know more about netbooks. The small size and lightness of the netbook allows them to be easy to travel with. Netbooks also have large hard drives so it is possible to store lots of songs and videos on them. The fact that they have a long battery life is an added plus. However the size will also bring about some problems. Netbooks will have small screens, the keyboard can be difficult for people with large hands and there is no disk drive.

Who are the people that should get netbooks? People who are on the go or people who have other computers as well are the people. Major internet users, business men and women and students should look at netbooks.

The netbook is becoming very popular very fast. This does not mean that there are only good things about it and it should be kept in mind that not everyone should use one.
