This is even more so when it comes to handbags and shoes than it is about clothes and jewellery.

Even if you are not into all the hype about designers and brand names, you will have to admit that when it comes to status symbols, one of the essentials is the handbag. A handbag can say a lot about you and your lifestyle, and it can often lead to people judging you before they even know who you are or what you are like.

Handbags come in so many styles and varieties that it can be very confusing trying to keep up with the latest trends. This is why women are notorious for buying so many different kinds and then trying to justify the purchase. A large handbag which is overflowing with so many spare things will often show that you are disorganised or so busy that you have no spare time to sort things out. A small handbag will mean that you are the more controlling type and like to have everything organised. You also dislike clutter and this carries on through in to the rest of your life too. Somewomen like structured bags with lots of compartments, and others prefer the type which you just shove everything in to and hope to luck that you can find it again when you need it. For many women, it is perfectly normal to have about five or six bags which they alternate on a regular basis and these are usually of different varieties.

Different occasions demand different handbags, but you will find that most women have their favourites and tend to be quite loyal. There is a lot of fun to be had when you are shopping around for handbags especially if you are with friends. However, I have seen grown women come to blows over the last bag on the shelf belonging to a particular brand or designer.
