Bernard Hopkins (51-5-2, 32 KO's) was not victorious over WBClight heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (26-1-1, 16 KO's) last Saturday night. In that fight, the Philly born Hopkins went down in the 1st and 3rd rounds. Despite those knockdowns, Hopkins was able to come back and turn the fight into a majority draw. Let's think twice about this: First, if that fight was held elsewhere in neutral territory, like the United States, Hopkins would of won the fight, I would say by a close decision, at it's best. The fight for 'Pete-sakes' was held in Pascal's backyard. It was a home-town decision. In my opinion, their people were probably thinking: "We'll make it a draw, that way nobody get's bamboozled." Hopkin's has every right to be disgusted by this decision. He was trying to make history by becoming the oldest title champion ever. Now he's going to have to wait his turn to get another title shot. "When, when he's 50."

The WBC kingpin Jose Sulaiman is turning his head the other way about giving Bernard a fast rematch.

Secondly, a dependable informant is stating that "IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud is interested in fighting Hopkins, possibly on the undercard of Pascal's next fight." The winner of those two fights would then face each other, and face the winner of the light heavyweight unification bout between WBA champion Beibut Shumenov and WBO title holder Jurgen Braehmer, which takes place next monthon January 8th in Kazakhstan."

Nevertheless, this would be a good situation for Hopkins and the rest of the light heavy contenders. As a result, Hopkins may seelight at the end of the tunnel for the belt he so desperatley wants, that would make him part of an exclusive club among the Boxing elite. And maybe still fight Pascal in a rematchand retire, then wait for the Hall of Fame to be calling.
