2.Sydney Shakespeare Festival is held January every year. Shakespeare's classics, comedies, love stories, tragedies etc. are played in the Harbour foreshore.

With the city, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Sydney Opera House offered as a milieu, the unparalleled Open-Air Cinema is an experience by itself. 4.Chinese New Year Festival is held every year for 15 days between January and February. Sydney's yearly Chinese New Year Festival is the biggest Lunar New Year gala outside of Asia. There are parades, events, exhibitions, sports, food fests, tours, expositions etc. Another highlight would be the Dragon boat race and the Twilight Parade.

6.The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival held in February is the world's foremost gay and lesbian cultural festival. This event is held to increase the recognition of the gay community and culture. There are a lot of activities earmarked to commemorate this.
7.Kids Day Out Music Festival held in February is a big festival organised for children. The activities are planned and held keeping kids in mind. There are live shows, meet and greets, games, and other festivities.
8.The Walsh Bay Jazz Festival happens in February, and it is a month-long jazz festival by the harbour. The programme consists of shows by leading Australian jazz players.
9.Bondi Markets occurs in April in the beachfront grounds. The market hosts designer wear, imported curios, jewellery, arts, crafts, vintage furniture etc.
10.Rozelle Markets started in 1991 is one of Sydney's choice second-hand markets. It is held in the weekends in the month of April. Tourists can rummage through a range of collectibles, garments, handicrafts, paintings etc. It is told that many Film props buyers come to buy stuff used in TV shows and movies.
11.Convict Sydney Festival held in May is where the history of the Hyde Park Barracks is displayed. The lives of convicts who lived here, their stay, the streets etc. are showcased in this festival.
12.The Sydney Comedy Festival held in April through May showcases about 300 shows across 15 locations in about three weeks. There are both local and global artists performing here.
13.Sydney Winter Festival happens through July-August. Activities include ice rink shows, winter sports and a food fest of winter specialities as also some alpine music shows. This is a great festival for tourists to witness.
14.Feastability Food and Wine Festival happens in September where visitors can savour global cuisines, wines, beers, ice-creams and bakes at the Newtown precinct. Also for entertainment there is music and activities for kids.
15.Festival of the Winds occurring in September is a kite festival happening at the famed Bondi beach where hundreds of kites of all shapes, sizes and colours are flown. There are many dance and music workshops, kids amusements like face painting, rides, jugglers, clowns etc. International food and drinks are also available here.
