What's the best method of getting into and around Liverpool?

With the fabulous Albert Dock and Tate Liverpool

, many museums and galleries, and two Premier League football teams, Liverpool has much to offer someone looking for a visit to the Merseyside city. Not only that, but as a bustling hub of industry, many people arrive there for work reasons.

All you have to do is decide how you want to get here. And that couldn't be easier. Here are five ways to arrive in Liverpool:

1. PLANE - If travelling from overseas, then flying into Liverpool may be your best option. The airport is just seven miles from the city centre, so it couldn't be easier to reach your destination.

2. CAR - One of the most popular methods of arriving into Liverpool is by car and there are many car parks available in the city. Road links are good, but with high tariffs on car parks and rising fuel costs, it's no longer the most ideal approach.

3. TRAINS - As well as having excellent rail links to and from other UK cities, Liverpool also has a fantastic regional network in the North West and its own Merseyside rail system to get you into and around the city.

4. FERRY - If arriving from the Wirral, then you could get a Ferry across the Mersey. Likewise, if you're coming from Dublin or Belfast, you can get to Pier Head in the city via Ferry.

5. BUS - If you want to avoid driving in and maybe getting caught up in traffic, as well as avoiding car parking and petrol costs, a popular method of getting to Liverpool is by bus. It's one of the cheapest methods of travel and can take you all over the city.

If travelling into Liverpool by train, you could head into Liverpool Lime Street or Liverpool Central station, both conveniently located in the heart of the city.
