What's the difference between high end and low end fastpitch softball bats

?

One of the hardest decisions in fastpitch softball is deciding which bat to use. There are several manufacturers that dominate the market, and each has great bat. Online there are many sites that compare the bats and give reviews. Some players and coaches will swear by one bat or another, so it's important to find the bat that's right for your player. Some of the top bats out there are the Anderson RocketTech, Miken Icon, Easton Stealth, DeMarini CF4, Worth Mayhem, and Louisville Slugger Catalyst.

Which of these is best? Well, each of them has their benefit. To be used in league play, all of these bats are tested to comply with a 20% rule. This means that the ball must not leave the bat faster than 120% of the speed from which it came at the bat. This is tested under strict condition. So that is a uniformity. Where the bats will be different is how the bat is weighted, is it end-weighted or balances? How flexible is it, and what sort of a "whip" effect does this give the bat? Bat models will also have different weight-to-length ratios. So this is where you see numbers like -11, -10, or -9, or it's "drop". Which drop you need depends on your player. If your daughter is tall and lanky a shorter bat would be best, but if your daughter would benefit from a little extra reach then a longer bat would be better.

And when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for with fast pitch softball bats. An inexpensive bat won't help your player, and you can find bats for as little as $19 and up to $69 for the mid-range. But if you really love the sport, and want her to be successful, then you will want to invest in a bat that will give her the greatest edge possible.

In the opinion of many coaches, a players hitting ability will make or break her success. And why not? When it comes down to it, the fun of game is scoring runs by smashing the ball and getting on base.

So what's the difference between high end and low end fastpitch softball bats? By closely watching and observing players hit ground line pitches, you will notice over and again that it's the high end bats what put a big pop in the ball. And this pop could mean the difference in hitting an easy ball and knocking it sharply enough to drive it through the infield. Or, the boost could mean smashing a lazy line drive and hitting a ball to the outfield. And once the player advances in the sport, it will definitely help them hit doubles and triples rather than singles.
