Claim items from laundry shops, tailors, and shoe repair shops. It is easy to forget the things left for repair at repair shops. As your anxiety heightens as the moving day approaches, you tend to forget of them. Your attention is focused on the things that will move with you. To avoid such from happening, do not drop off items into these shops for repair or cleaning even two weeks before the moving day. If you really need them fixed or cleaned, wait until their done, or make sure you include claiming them in your "things to do list".

Return loaned books, cancel club and gym memberships. Loaned books from a library are often forgotten when people move. This is one of the headaches librarians face when their clients transfer to another town. Since there are a lot of things that keep them busy, they tend to forget returning the books or magazines to the library. Another thing that people forget when they move is cancelling their gym or club memberships. This is important since some gyms and clubs can process the transfer of your membership to their branch in the town or city where you will be relocated. Another advantage is that you may be able to claim a refund for the credits that remain unused in your account.

4. Manage bank accounts and other financial matters. Notify the bank that you are transferring residence to another town or state and see if they have a branch located in that area. If there is none, then settle the closure of your account or see if there is a way where you can transfer the money in your current account to another account in another bank.

5. Notify post office your change of address. Do not forget to notify your local post office of your change of address. Even if we are now living in an "e-mail world", we still get a number of snail-mails coming to our doorsteps.
