What to Look for in a Good MLM Coach

Picking the right MLM coach or mentor is one of the most important things you can do for your networking career. Here are the most important characteristics to look for when looking for a mentor.

1. Experience Matters.

First of all, it only makes sense to look for an experienced network marketer with a proven track record. On the Internet, not everything is as it seems. Shocking, I know. However, just because someone calls themself, " America's Top Networker", it doesn't mean that they even know the tiniest bit about which they speak. They may just be a beginner applying the "fake it 'till you make it" principle.

2. What is Your Learning Style?

You should also consider the teaching style of the trainer. If you're a person who learns through reading, then emails, blogs, and eBooks will be instructive. If you are an auditory learner, audio files or CD's will be effective. Visual learners will benefit from presentations, webinars, and step by step visual instructions when it comes time to apply much of what is taught.

3. Do You Enjoy Your Time With Him or Her?

Do you like his or her personality, style, and even the sound of their voice? It may sound trivial; however, we tend to block out those things which we find annoying. You will, by virtue of your computer or other media, be inviting this person into your home for hours; you will want for it to be a positive experience.

4. What About Availability?

You will want to find someone who is accessible as your personal mentor and coach; therefore, you'll want to find someone who is a full time networker. Theoretically, a full time networker will be successful enough to be supporting himself as a full time networker. They will also be available to answer their phone when you call. After all, they are no longer answering to a boss! A personal coah is helpful, as long as they are able to show up for the game. Bear in mind, if you are purchasing an affiliate network marketing course, then you should be mentored by the person you purchase the program fromnot the "expert" who is teaching the course.

5. Finally, Is the Training Comprehensive?

Don't settle for learning from anyone who isn't currently involved in the MLM world. You do not want someone who made their money a decade ago and is now spending each afternoonon the golf course. Look for someone able to offer updates via email or blog; someone who is still very much a networker. You aren't looking for someone who is retired.
