You both part on friendly terms and continue to move in the same social circles but treat one another is polite strangers. You become friends and realize this is where you should have been all along. You use the breakup as a wake up call to fix what is wrong with the relationship and get back together before all is said and done. You become bitter enemies and spend the rest of your lives hating one another. These are all choices you face when you end a relationship.
