Many cheerleading resources advise that participants should always do several warm-up stretches before attempting any stunts and before any kind of performance to help decrease the chance of getting hurt.

Cheerleading has its origins in a straightforward dance and cheer, but has since developed into the elaborate routines that we are seeing nowadays.
