Mold and Mildew---Spores from these tiny organisms are everywhere-both indoors and out. They help return complex substances to nature in their simplest state. When that process happens outside it's a great thing, when it happens inside your home it's bad news.

Cooking Odors---Some foods are more odoriferous than others and can linger for days in the air. Fish and seafood, garlic and other spices, gases from frying, smoke from indoor grilling, and even frying foods like bacon and sausage can send a lot of cooking odors throughout.

Tobacco Smoke---Smoke from cigarettes, cigars, or a pipe can linger in the air for quite a while and be tough to eliminate. The fine particulates that are generated from the burning process can permeate clothing, upholstery, draperies and other fabrics. Kerosene and wood burning stoves send out strong fumes that remain in the air for days.

Household Products-You only have to walk down the aisle with household cleaning products to get a whiff of all the "fragrances" that many products emit. Scents are available in everything from laundry detergent to furniture wax, to plug in air fresheners.

Each of these smells may seem pleasant enough by itself, but using all of these products in your home sends quite a combination of aromas into the air. This is often overwhelming---and not in a good way.
