What's The Deal With Fiber

If you look around in the grocery store, especially the cereal section

, you're going to see that almost every box has a bold statement about fiber. You can even get Fruit Loops with "added

fiber." There's a reason for this and it's pretty simple.

Most Americans, who eat the SAD diet (Standard American Diet), have a problem as they get older. They can't seem to get out, what they put in. They have a regularity problem. Their systems get backed up and they need some help with their plumbing. Fiber is being touted

as the new Roto Rooter.

You can eat all the All Bran you want, but it's only going to help a tad. It may make you slightly more regular and that may be some relief, but it won't really clean the pipes and flush the system

completely, which is what is needed.

To get your body functioning just like your dog, which is how one of my old professors described it, you need to change what you put in your system. (Once you feed a dog, it's ready to lose whatever it ate previously.)

If you're eating a good amount of packaged food, it's the same as putting grease in your water pipes. All that stuff that comes in neat little cartons is full of things never intended to go into your system, by the Big Designer. That means that in order for you to function properly, you need to clean the piping.

Many people think they can do this by ingesting cereals, such as All Bran and the like, or Cheerios, but they are just fooling themselves. This works a bit, but is also part of the problem. You see, the Big Designer never intended for you to eat anything like

Cheerios, in the first place.

Cereal is basically a mix of flour, sugar and other additives that don't play well with the digestive tract, or any of the body's other systems, either. If, for instance, you have cereal and doughnuts for breakfast, a hoagie for lunch and pizza and beer for dinner, you are overloading all the systems in the body.

Every section of your body is working overtime, trying process all the junk with which you have tried to fuel it.

It turns everything into sugar and burns it, as fast as it can. But there is no way it can burn all the sugar, so it stores it as fat.

On top of the fat you already have. The fat then slows down the system, including the digestive tract and waste stays in the system, way longer than it should. Not only that, but it sends a message to the brain that you're hungry again. Rinse. Repeat. Spin.

The best fiber comes from vegetables, especially green vegetables Fruit also contains some fiber, but not nearlythe amount found in green vegetables. If you want to keep your system pristine, eat as much green as you can.

I'll guarantee you this: if you stop eating packaged food and fast food and eat real green vegetables, you'll never have to consider adding fiber to your diet. You'll visit the porcelain a couple of times a day and never feel sluggish, or bloated. You'll even lose some weight, as an added bonus.
