Wheel Of Fortune Plays Pinball
If you love the popular television game show, Wheel of Fortune
, then you are going to absolutely love the Wheel of Fortune pinball machine from Stern Pinball, Incorporated, the world's only manufacturer of coin-operated pinball machines. This game features speech from show host Pat Sajak, along with announcer Charlie O'Donnell. The backglass art for this pinball machine features Sajak and Vanna White.
A Classic Game Show Loved By All
Even if you won't admit to watching game shows, you know you love the Wheel of Fortune. It's like going back to your childhood when you used to play "Hangman" with your friends. Everyone loves a good puzzle, and that is what this game offers its viewers and contestants. This show first aired as a daytime game show in 1975, and this year will celebrate its 35th anniversary of being on the air and awarding millions of dollars in prizes to contestants. It is the third-longest running syndicated television program in the US, behind Entertainment Tonight and the now defunct Soul Train.
Wheel of Fortune is the brainchild of producer Merv Griffin, and is hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White. Three contestants compete in each game, which can go as long as five or six rounds, and sometimes longer if the puzzles are solved quickly. Contestants spin the wheel, and if they land on a dollar amount, they get to pick a letter that they hope is in the puzzle. If they get their letter, they have an opportunity to guess the puzzle. If the contestant spins and lands on Bankrupt, they not only lose their turn, they lose all of the money that they may have built up during that particular round.
Just Like The Popular Game Show
Just like the show, this pinball machine game begins with a spin of the wheel, which is located on the playfield. This is how points and prizes are put into the Prize Bank. In order to collect consonants and vowels, players must hit three bobble head contestants, then they can solve the puzzle which appears on the dot matrix display. When a player solves a puzzle, he or she may collect their prize from the Prize Bank.
The Wheel of Fortune pinball machine is loaded with lots of great features, including three in-line target lanes, electronic chime pop bumper sounds, wide flipper stance, center bumper and dual outlane drains. Some of the really neat features of the Wheel of Fortune arcade game are:
- A mini dot matrix display in the middle of the playfield that gives players directions as they play
- Loads of multi-ball action
- The spinning wheel
The Wheel of Fortune pinball machine from Stern is a really fun game to play, even more fun that trying to solve the puzzles from the living room. With this game, players are right in the middle of Wheel of Fortune action, and don't have to get frustrated when the contestants don't hear them shouting puzzle answers at the television set.
