Wheelchair Swings For The Disabled.

For those children destined to spend some or all of their life in a wheelchair

, there is a need to help them enjoy what other children, who are not disabled in this way do, and that is swinging. This is where wheelchair swings for the disabled are made to help achieve this goal.

When a child is on a swing they get immense pleasure from it, and for those who help push them, then the words push me higher are quite familiar. There is absolute delight when this happens. Those children which are disabled are capable of getting just as much joy from something like this, and the wheelchair swing can bring it to them.

These swings have a strong frame made of tubular steel. The heavy duty plastic seat or cradle is reinforced with metal and is designed to take a wheelchair into it, and be fastened in place with a safety device on the wheels. The ramp where the chair is backed up into the seat, can be removed before the swing is set in motion.

The chair or cradle only needs to be pushed to set it in motion once everything is out of the way and locked in place. The disabled adult also has a swing which has been made to suit them. The frame on this has been made from strong tubular steel. The chair or platform is made from punched steel or mesh which covers a metal frame.

To link the platform to the main frame, strong chains have been used. These are linked just above to tubular steel rods, which in turn have chains attached which reach up to the main framework. The platform or chair has ramps front and back and these can be lowered during entry and exit, and raised when the swing is in use. In this way it is also suitable for a motorized unit and has been designed for a child to use as well.

All wheelchair swings need to be used with an adult supervising the situation, so in the event of any problems these can be rectified quickly. There are a number of other swings available for the disabled, these are designed in a similar way with easy access on and off, and safety when they are being used.

Any person interested in obtaining these sorts of products may like to try their local phone directory for companies which sell disabled products, or there are websites on the internet which can be accessed for further information.
