When Calling Your Marriage Quits Becomes Necessary

No matter how hard you try, there are situations when it becomes necessary to quit a marriage for the sake of your life and your children's (if any)

. While I would not say that quitting is your best option, sometimes it is just the best resort to turn to.

"I was completely traumatized when I discovered that my husband has a wife and three children elsewhere!" Before now, my husband has paraded me about as the only precious gift he's got on earth. He lavished gifts on me, took me out to every occasion he has been invited to and never wanted me to stress over anything. He even did not want us to have children and said I was worth more than 10 children to him, and that I should keep my beautiful figure from being dented with childbirth.

"Little did I know that my husband did not want us to have children because he's already got some by a wife he never divorced before marrying me! It was four years after I had my second boy (for I insisted on having children) that events started unfolding themselves" I even got to know later that he was using his clergy work to cover up his dealings with hard drugs. No wonder he made so much money that I wondered if it was the peanuts he earned from his part-time job in the factory, together with the clergy work that earned him so much money!

Well, when the whole truth about my husband lay bare before me, I was completely shattered that my health became endangered. But for the sake of the children, I decided not to quit the marriage. However, more shocking news unveiled and my husband was no longer coming home, and will not pick his calls either. My mental health in addition to my emotional well being became at stake. I visited a psychologist who eventually advised that divorce was necessary to save my health and life!

It even became obvious to me that I had to quit and start a new life with my two boys. Though it was a hard way to go, there was even no provision for my children's upbringing as my husband had no savings (he was extravagant, and probably was catering more for his original family). I did not know what the future held for me and my two boys, but it was necessary to quit!

The above is a true life story, and a typical case that demands termination of a marriage. When your emotional, physical and mental health becomes threatened, then you should quit your marriage.
