. Even planting a small garden provides for a large amount of benefits. One of the advantages of having a garden is that tending to it and maintaining it is a wonderful form of exercise. Another one is that you can save money because you will not need to go to the grocery store to purchase fruits and vegetables. Once you have decided that it is a good idea to start a garden of your own, there are a few bits of information that you will need to know, with one of the main ones being when the appropriate time to begin planting your garden is.

The answer to the question of when to plant your garden is pretty much anytime. This is because it is dependent on the growing climate that you live in, what types of plants you want to grow, and if you are planting your crops inside the house as opposed to outside.

If you live in an area that does not have a very cold winter as opposed to a region that has frost and frigid temperatures during the wintertime, it will change when you need to plant your crops. If you live in a region that gets extremely cold, you do not want to plant crops at the wrong time because they could freeze. It is best to begin those crops that can withstand the cold temperatures at the end of the summer or early in the fall. This will give them an opportunity to develop a strong root system before the harsh temperatures arrive. Check to be certain that the variety of plants that you are planning to grow can handle the cold.

The largest part of your planting will be done in the springtime. This is when the weather is wonderful for growing most any type of plants. Keep in mind that there are some plants that bloom in spring, and need to be planted in the winter when it is cold outside in order to germinate. There are not a large amount of these plants, however. The plants that you introduce into your garden in the spring will be ready to harvest by the autumn.

Though there is not an exact answer to when to begin planting your garden, depending on the types of plants you would like to grow, you can decide on when would be the best time. By using this strategy, you will be certain to have a bountiful harvest.
