When Your Marriage Is on the Rocks, Is It Best to Move on or Stay Put

You've got to admit, sometimes, even if we try our very hardest to maintain a relationship it can seem endless. When faced with issues that cannot possibly be resolved with your spouse, it's sometimes better to cut your ties and get on with your own life. There's not much point continuing if all you meet is a brick wall when facing your partner.

It can take months, even years for marital problems to arise. But when the fateful day it reaches boiling point appears you know that there's no going back. Neither of you spoke about your troubles when they first began and the relationship is now too far gone to be fixed.

There's always the option of seeking some form of marriage counselling, but this will only help the relationship if both sides are willing to participate. Though at this time the tension between you will be like walking on the edge of a knife. Little or no communication will be shared, and love, trust and any type of intimacy will be out of the window.

Just about all relationships which end with a breakup involve a fair amount of mental trauma, and the dissolving of one's marriage is no exclusion. As it stands though, the pain of a non loving marriage can often be worse than that of a break up. By prolonging a marriage that has no momentum both parties suffer, but when your marriage is over you can move on to better things.

Think hard about moving on and you will find that when your marriage is over you can both seek happiness elsewhere. New options of freedom shall arise, and both of you may be thankful towards each other for creating this new found freedom when an unhappy marriage ends. Look to the future!
