When it Comes to Artificial Grass, Quality Rules

We've all heard the old saying, "You get what you pay for." There's a reason why

that phrase has been around for so long - it's true! And nowhere is it more apparent than in the artificial grass industry where cheap products still abound. It's these inferior grasses that perpetuate the idea that artificial grass is ugly, extremely fake-looking and an overall bad idea. When it comes to artificial grass, you simply must go with quality.

Many countries (like China) are still manufacturing poor quality grasses and selling them to US companies at cut-rate prices. So, consumers think they're getting a fantastic deal when, in fact, they're getting taken for a ride. And the destination isn't pleasant. These imported grasses may be cheaper but the quality is absolutely awful. If you're trying to save a lot of money on an artificial lawn, you should probably reevaluate.

Poor quality grass blades are made from inferior yarns which makes the grass look very shiny and very plastic. Bottom line, they just look fake. And what's worse is that this cheaper yarn makes the grass smell terrible; especially when it gets hot. It makes your yard smell like burning rubber. When you opt for superior quality artificial grass, it has a matte, natural look to it. It looks like real grass. In fact, people are hard-pressed to tell you it's artificial until they get right on top of the lawn. And good quality grass doesn't smell or off-gas.

In addition to the look and smell, lower quality grass can contain lead; especially if they come from a country without EPA lead restrictions. These cheap products also tend to have drainage problems which makes managing pet odors a real chore. And they don't last nearly as long as better quality grasses. So, when you're shopping for artificial grass, remember "you get what you pay for." Be sure to choose wisely and choose quality.
