Where Can I Find Linkbait Examples?

If you are interested in getting more involved in the world of Linkbait

, it might help you visually if you can actually see some examples of what other websites are doing in order to get link backs. Everyone needs and requires links. We can ask for links, purchase links or create linkbait articles and submit them for one way links. Linkbaiting is about getting links without doing any of these tactics. Link Baiting is essentially tantalizing people in by creating something they want to link to. So, what could we use to bait people into linking to you?

A few ideas for link-baiting are webmaster tools, interviews by "hot" people in the news (offline or online), podcasting, contests, videos that create buzz, content, blogs, etc. There is a variety of ways of going about this, YOU just need to be smart when choosing the right tactics for your website. I know for me, I'm more of a visual person so this is one of the reasons I went searching for some helpful Link-bait examples. I found several different websites online that showed you samples. Some of these websites content and tactics were written by Joe Shmos, but most of the sites were actually by people that are into SEO, SEO and Internet Marketing.

These are the guys that know what they are talking about! Some people might just as well copy and paste the results form another website, but a hardy few sites I found online actually did their own research on the subject and had some very interesting things to say. For example, if you are getting in to link bait, you need to know HOW link-bait works, why it works and what "stats" you need to be after. One website I found online did explain all this and so much more - such as the somewhat confusing acronyms like:

- ULD: Unique Linking Domains according to Linkscape Metrics.

- YSE In links: Total number of links to the page excluding internal links as given by Yahoo! Site Explorer at the time of writing.

- Page Authority: Calculated by OpenSite Explorer metrics.

- RTs: Retweets if applicable.

- Comments: Taken from the post comment count.

These are the things you need to know about! This particular blog also covered other optimization and Internet marketing tactics as well, not just linkbait articles such as LinkedIn: Optimizing Your Profile, Linkbait: The Most Linked to Articles, On Site Search Analytics and Best FireFox Social Media Extensions. These diverse sites are a cool option to follow along with because virtually any question you have about ANY tactic will be covered. This means less time wasting for you because now you can visit one or two blogs for the questions you have instead of twelve or thirteen sites.
