Where Does Your Young Mozart's Inquisitive Interest in Music and Learning Disappear to?
It is a common complaint of parents and music teachers that the child has become lazy and does not practice
. They wonder how could the child who was so fascinated with music and learning now become so lethargic about it?I can list down so many reasons that they could actually become a whole book. In fact, I am planning on writing it very soon and explain ways to overcome the laziness. For the time being, let us take a look at the most common examples and learn from them. Information about musical education of children will help you in helping your child develop music and learning skills. When you first notice signs that your child is no more eager to play his musical instrument, understand that you or the music teacher has committed at least one mistake in dealing with the psychology of young musicians.First of all, do not ever accuse the child of lack of interest or laziness. Get me? Never! Children are never lazy; they are inherently active and curious to know as much as they can. You just need to channel their bubbling energy in the right direction and reawaken their desire for music and learning. The only way to do this is to become a child yourself, i.e. think through their perspective. Experience the carefree attitude of children. Think of the times when you could solve any problem quickly and effortlessly. Thinking through this perspective, now use your life experience to find the best method of working that keeps your child interested in learning music. You need to teach your child to work because until now everything was so easy for him and people also praised him immensely. But things don't remain the same. The first couple of years are always easy but the curriculum then gets complex. The truth remains that you have never taught him how work diligently. If he does not work, how can he learn and if he cannot learn, how can he remain interested? So is it really the child's fault that he is no longer keen on music and learning? If you remember, there was always someone or something that made him interested in playing a musical instrument. He didn't just acquire it on his own!The conclusion is that you or the music teacher failed to follow an adequate psychological approach to training the child. It could be anything - not teaching him to learn independently, not praising him at the right times, etc. You must be vigilant now to choose a great music teacher who understands the psychology of young musical children.
