, which I bought form Gift of Cards that says no more than Happy Mothers Day ,I wonder where things have begun for me to be able to do this with such ease....
3000 BC; Clay tablets were used to write on, invented by the Sumerians.
2000-2500 BC; Hieroglyphics were written on sheets of papyrus. Papyrus was made by using strips of reed which were overlaid and then dried. This created sheets that could be used by the Egyptians to write there Hieroglyphics on.
2000 BC; Minoans wrote on clay tablets
1500 BC; Chinese writing (which was actually pictograms) has been found on animal shoulder bones.
1500- 1000 BC; Aztecs would paint designs on bits of beaten flat bark.
600 BC; Parchment was developed by the Greeks. This parchment was made from sheep skin that had been soaked in lime and stretched for over two weeks. This was to preserve and harden the skin to be used for writing on.
200 BC; The first known development of paper was created in China, where torn silk threads were bound to create paper.
500 1000; All books and information were copied out by hand in the West. Parchment was still being used as at this time here as there was still no paper in the West.
600-750; Chinas paper making knowledge spread across Asia and the middle east , with the Japanese refining the technique.
1100; Knowledge of how to create the paper spread from the Middle East to the west through the expansion of trade.
1500; Printing presses were set up over Europe.
1798; Lithographic printing was invented in Germany, which is still today is a huge part of the printing technique used throughout the world.
1860; A four colour photomechanical lithographic process was invented that was able to produce photographical processing.
1950; Paper engineered items have now spread across all aspects of industry.
