The British Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg
, returned from his holiday in Spain, looking rather replenished from his holiday, many commenting on the 'happiness curve' that had formed during his break.
Clegg was staying in a small town in Madrid with his wife Maria, and their three sons.
Then Malaga played host to America's first lady and her daughter Sasha, as they stayed in a luxury villa hotel, before visiting Spanish Royal family at their summer island in Majorca.
Yet some are now wondering when to expect the British Prime Minister, David Cameron. Though it seems like they are going to have to wait for a while before he will be returning to their shores.
Cameron visited Serrania de Ronda back in 2008, and spoke of his appreciation of the place to Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zaperto.
And while the region has been ready waiting for his return this year, there is a slight problem. Cameron and his wife, who is eight months pregnant, have chosen to go to Cornwall instead.
Jeremy Nicholls, the boss of Gibraltar based PR firm, Copywrite, spoke out on the matter, claiming it to be nonsense.
Hes having his hols in Cornwall near to where were staying in Rock. Nicholls said.
Samantha is 8 months pregnant; there is no way she can fly. Shes hardly going to enjoy 40 degree heat in that stage of her pregnancy.
With a baby due rather imminently the Prime Minister has opted to sick in Blighty.
Back in July a Downing Street source claimed that Cameron was due to holiday in Cornwall, and in spite of rumours to the contrary, it looks like they were right.
This is the second time in three years that the Camerons have opted for holiday in Britain, yet some locals in Ronda are still hoping he may surprise them.
Local bar manager Paul Darwant, met the prime minister last time he visited in 2008. I have heard he is staying with friends in Gaucin, but its all very discreet, Darwant said.
Ive got my camera ready this time in case he does come into the bar again though. He joked.
Yet it seems Paul can put his camera away, as Cameron packs his bucket and spade for a seaside holiday in South East Britain.
There the Prime Minister is said to be meeting with one of Labour's contenders for Leadership, Ed Milliband.
The British Prime Minister is not the only one to be staying on native shores for their holiday. Nicolas Sarkozy of France is heading to the French Riviera. Spain's Zaperto is destined for Castilla. While Italy's Berlusconi is due to stay in Italy.
Meanwhile villas in Spain remain a popular option for tourists flocking to the Mediterranean, as July saw a steady boost in British tourist heading to the country for a sojourn abroad. Spanish villas have served as a cheap option for accommodation in more austere times.
