I have several VHS footage that I'd like to have transformed to DVD for archival factors

To improve on that, I know Once image places are starting to offer VHS-to-DVD alternatives so you'd probably want to get in touch with 'round to all the local Once image places (including places like Wal-Mart and drug stores that offer image services) and see how much they are asking for.
On another notice, because you are offering VHS to DVD transactions, its is a natural "extra service" in this kind of organization to also offer to make a fall display out of people pictures. I know you need an audience - but I bet if you start getting organization, someone will certainly ask if you can put their pictures on a DVD or make a fall display too.
