Where is the Truth?

You feel embarrassed at times to be an Indian, yet there is no way out. We are what we are Indians, citizens of world's largest democracy. In democracy, everyone has the liberty to express his or her views, but can we express our views without fear of being targeted?

Our media is dumbfounded when any gentlemen come up with views contradictory to popular beliefs. There is widespread falsehood within our media; they "make" news but never bother about the concerned individual, and they only focus on the topic which is hot. Media in India has become a political show. Ultimately it is the people who suffer from this politics. We feel that we are making choices on our own, but no!

Our views are designed and shaped by the "big bosses", and these "bosses" use media to their advantage. Corporate giants, politicians, and bureaucrats use media to get the people to think what they want, who want to be the next cricket star, who should make headlines, who should become what, everything decided in the board room of big bosses. There can be thousands of news on the same topic, but none will be nearer to the truth, never an article described the true condition of Kashmir, on naxalites, and on cricket betting.

If anyone, like Arundhati Roy, tries to find the roots of the problem, our media use them to sell more copies to create more drama but never beyond that. Everything will be forgotten in a day or two or at least in a week. What India need is "Truth". People need transparency, but who will take the initiative.

Truth in India is illusion, it seems to be there but never. If you have any doubt, just read four newspapers on the same topic and you can find millions of contradictions. Here I am not talking about opinions, opinions do differ and it has to, but here I am talking about facts, statistics, so where is the truth my friends?
