Where to Find Good Wellington Builders

It's not often that you find tradesmen that you can trust without having to monitor every little thing that they do

. You know what I'm talking about, when you find good Wellington builders like that then you are really reluctant to hire anyone else, even if they are more expensive than other providers.

I count myself lucky because I've worked in the construction industry before and I know what a good builder is capable of and generally where to find them. Let me just say that I wouldn't feel comfortable with hiring half of the builders out there in Wellington. Why is that? Because they all do varying jobs. Some do a great job whilst others couldn't give two hoots' what you think of the end product.

So where do you find good reliable Wellington Builders? In the old days you used to be able to ask you friends or neighbors and they would recommend a decent builder who had worked for all of their friends. So you could be guaranteed that the job you received would be just as good as theirs.

But these days for some reason people don't talk to each other as much as they used to. Marketing through the TV, Radio, Yellow Pages, and Internet have changed the way we find things and make value decisions.

So given that we no longer rely as heavily on word-or-mouth to make informed decisions like we once did, then there must be a way to accurately judge if a builder is fit to work on your project or not. Here is my advice concerning finding builders in the first place, and second of all judging if they are fit to work for you:

Use the internet and search for "Wellington Builders" or "Good Builders in Wellington". See who shows up in the search results. Once you have found a few different builders, send them a description of the works that you want to get done. Ask for a quote and for at least 3 references.

References are your best guide to determine the ability of the builder, their past dealings with other people, and whether or not they would be suitable to do your project.
