. But the question is out of so many domain extensions which one should be selected? This is very important step if you want a good rank of your website in Google search. Out of so many domain extensions list which would be more profitable and the extension which will help in increasing the traffic to your website.

Domain Top Level

Domain top level/ top level domain (TLD) is one of the domains at highest level in the hierarchical system of the internet. Every country has its own unique TLD assigned and regulated by ICANN.

While in DNS (Domain name system) countries are assigned an unique ISO code but due to rapid growth in Internet the need of TLD is in much demand.

Every domain name behaves as a virtual address, for example if you visit google.com then you need not to know the IP address of it. Just type in the name and go to the specific website. It is very difficult for people to learn the IP address of websites than their names.

.net

.org

.info

.tv

These domains starting from top to bottom are most used. Almost every organization generally uses extensions from above listed extensions. The Google search first look up for all .com extensions then it looks up for .net and so on in the above hierarchy. So the most common extension .com is used by maximum number of websites.

Other Domain Extensions

There are many other extensions in the market which are:-

.com, .net, .in, co.in, .eu, .us, .name, .info, net.in, org.in, ind.in, .biz, .co, org.uk, co.nz, kr.com, us.com, ae.org etc.

It depends on the purpose of the website, if you own your business in UK and the nature of your business is local then you must choose .uk extension. If anybody search up for say Server dealers in UK then it will show up all the dealers websites ending with .uk.

Suppose you want org.uk then search for the registrars who will provide you the org.uk extension. The process is very simple, first look up for the name of your website. After selecting those just click on the required extension and register your domain. Its very easy to do once you are though about it completely.
