OS Landranger maps

This series covers Great Britain in 204 detailed maps. There is a high level of detail in each, they include tourist information, picnic areas, places of interest and camping sites, plus Rights of Way information for England and Wales.

OS Landranger maps are great for getting to know an area they help with planning day trips, bike rides, hiking, outdoor adventures.

They have a 1:50 000 scale, (which is 2 cm to 1 km, 1 inches to 1 mile) they are a perfect all purpose map is just what you need if you want to get the most out of your trips. The area covered is 40 km by 40 km, allowing you to really get to know an area.

OS Explorer maps

The OS Explorer has a greater level of detail than the Landranger, owing to the 1:25 000 scale (4cm to 1km, 2 inches to 1 mile). These maps show every landmark, house, river, viewpoint, hill and pub so you'll easily be able to plan and navigate your route. There are 403 maps in this series covering every nook and cranny of Great Britain, so wherever you want to go and whatever you want to do there is a map available.

For detailed navigation when walking, hiking, orienteering and cycling the OS Explorer map series is ideal

Waterproof maps

Of course getting out into the great outdoors wouldnt quite be the same if you could depend on it being dry and sunny all the time so the good people at OS have made all OS Explorer and OS Landranger maps available in a waterproof version. These maps are often known as encapsulated or laminated maps and contain the same information as the standard OS Explorer or Landranger series but are covered in a lightweight protective plastic coating. As well as handling wet weather conditions, this series can easily be written on with washable ink, making it simple to highlight your favourite routes and then wipe them off when you return home.

Custom made maps

These are maps are made-to-order and available from OS and available in Explorer or Landranger versions. You can choose the centre location of the map for example your house, favourite walk or place of interest anywhere in Great Britain.

OS getamap

This is the UK Ordnance Survey mapping online a service where you can explore an area from the comfort of your own home. You can zoom in, plan your route or choose a recommended route, pin it on the map together with places to visit, hotels or pub. You then simply print out a copy of your personalised map and away you go. You can even share the map with friends and download to your gps.
