Which Type of Exercise is Best for Fat Loss
There are numerous types of exercise that you can perform on a daily basis
. Each one has its own category to be placed in as well as a loyal base of users who will die defending their favorite type of exercise. Let me ask you a question, have you ever been told to go against the grain? Or how about do the opposite of what most others do and you will succeed? Well, this is the whole point to this article. I am going to tell you this one thing about the different types of exercise out there
Everything works!
Yes! Everything worksfor some time!
Remember that one key important lesson. Every type of exercise will produce results, but only for a certain amount of time before you have to change it. If you get caught up in listening to others about this crazy new way to lose weight or that their way is the only way, then that's hogwash. However, there are certain types of exercise that are better than others when it comes to fat loss and this is extremely important when it comes to meeting and exceeding your goals.
The thing I hate to see the most is someone struggle to lose weight, especially when they are doing the wrong thing day in and day out. I just wish I could grab them and shake out all of that garbage that has filled their heads when it came to exercise knowledge. One of this being that slow cardio, or jogging is the best way to burn fat.
This is hardly close to the truth. This type of thinking stems in the fact of your fat burning zone. What your fat burning zone is, is percent heart rate that you have to work out at so you burn primarily fat for fuel. This point is true. At 65% or below your max heart rate, your body will primarily burn fat for fuel. But, if we take a look at athlete such as sprinters or football players, they almost certainly do not perform any type of slow, boring, long cardiovascular exercise and yet, they are ripped out of their minds. Now I know you might be saying that this is because they are professional athletes, this is somewhat true, but if you look at their training programs, they are performing quick bursts of intensity. You will never catch a sprinter jogging. And still they have a low amount of body fat.
These athletes work out at high intensities for short durations of time. And this is how you should train as well if you are looking to lose body fat at an alarming rate. When you train at high intensities such as sprint intervals, you are revving up your metabolism. You are creating such a high demand for oxygen that you put yourself into what's called oxygen debt. When there is an oxygen debt present in the body, metabolism increases. Your body then needs calories to repair it and bring it back to homeostasis. Some studies have proven that one's metabolism could be increased for hours on end depending on the type of exercise, but it does have to be high intensity. They have also found that you just don't see this increase in metabolism with steady state cardio.
So you see, high intensity types of exercise are key when it comes to burning body fat at an alarming rate. You would still lose weight by performing regular slow cardio, but definitely not as fast. I don't know about you, but I rather get the excess fat off as quick and as healthy as possible.
