How do you choose a removal company out of the wide variety that seem to be operating in your local area, as well as all the various national and international moving companies and the small man and van companies that are also available. Wherever you go, you are never going to find the perfect removal service, no matter how much you try. Mind you, you can get pretty close to perfect and some removal companies are really excellent and well worth promoting.

This is, in fact, what happens. Those removal companies that are really good hardly need to advertise: all their advertising is done for them, purely by word of mouth. Furthermore, if you want to book one of these companies, you need to book them as soon as you know you are definitely moving because otherwise you will be extremely disappointed. Moving companies nowadays advertise online and provide you with some idea of their charges with online quotes. However, if you find a moving company that appeals to you, contact them and ask them to come to your house and give you a firm and binding estimate. Once you have signed a contract with them make sure they leave you with a copy of their terms and conditions as well as sight of their insurance details.

Which is it: Independent Concern or one of the Nationals?

The independent concerns are run by people who are self-employed and run their business by themselves and for themselves. The national companies, meanwhile, usually employed people who have been trained within specialist areas, usually with permanent office staff to take your calls and prepare all the paperwork. Whichever you choose could be largely decided by the amount of possessions you have to move, whereabouts you are moving to and the actual distances involved. Naturally, choosing a man and van is not going to be particularly viable if you are moving from New York State to Florida with enough belongings to comfortably fill a five-bedroom home. However, if you just have a studio flat or are a student, moving a few blocks or into the next town, then a man and van would be a perfect choice.
