Whispering With Nature in Kerala Back Water

Nothing can be more rejuvenating than a back water tour in Kerala

. Last month me with my family got the opportunity to visit God's own country - Kerala. Oh! What a beautiful place it is! We took the opportunity to visit places like - Alappuzha, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Munnar and some more. But my joys reached in its zenith when we went for a back water tour.

As soon as I started for a back water tour in a romantic house boat, I felt as if I had been transported to heaven where sea, land and sky come together. As we meander on the back water of Alappuzha we entered in to a world of serene natural beauty. We made our journey from Alleppy to

Quilon and Kottayam through ferry. It was really a wonderful experience. Alleppey is often referred as the Venice of the east. And yup its true. The beauty of the place is enchanting. One of the best part about Alappuzha is that its water is in level with the land which provides the advantage of getting a closer look at the village life on shore while on a backwater ride. The palm fringed narrow cannels winding through the paddy fields, glimpses of Chinese fishing nets, folks of ducks playing around the water, little birds flying across the sky etc are some sights that pricked in my mind.

All the young stars as well as the oldies of my family enjoyed this back water tour to their heart's content. I must share the adventurous activities that we enjoyed the during the trip. First and foremost we took the herbal message for which the Kerala is famous for. Its really an awesome experience to under go such spa therapy. Meditation along with spa are excellent way to bind the soul, body and mind. Next we enjoyed angling and fishing. Wow... can not write the feeling when I was picking up the fishes from water. The child in me automatically came out in this tour of mine. We also met the local keralites and came to know many more things about their culture, food and habits etc.

But alas I could not attend the Alappuzha Boat Races or Nehru cup boat for which Allepy is famous for.

But no repentance,... the four days Kerala back water tour is undoubtedly once in a lifetime experience. I would like to suggest to all my nature lover friends to plan for a back water tour in Kerala to experience the nature in its best. The beauty here is just matchless and justify the saying that heaven lies in earth only.
