1. Your food and drinks. These are the most essential things to bring, of course. Make sure that your food and water are enough for the number of days or weeks you will be out in the open sea. Bring food like meat of all sorts, fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, bread and spread, canned goods, and nuts. Pack extra food, it is highly advised. You would not want to run out of something to eat in the middle of the ocean. Since you will be thirsty most of the time as you sail under the sun for days, bring a lot of drinking water. Also bring bottled or canned soda, juices, cocktail drinks, and other beverages. If you really want to have some excitement in your drinks, you can bring a portable slushy machine or blender so you could make your own refreshing juice.

2. Bring a first aid kit. The safety of everyone on board is so essential. You should always ensure your safety even when you are having fun. No one knows when accidents and injuries may occur so it is wise to be always prepared. That is why you must not forget to bring a complete first aid kit. Bring things like band aid, bandage, alcohol, and insect repellent. Bring different kinds of repellents applicable for different insect bites. Bring Tylenol and other tablets for different sicknesses.

3. Bathroom needs and toiletries. Most houseboats in Whitsundays already have all items needed in the bathroom. Prior to renting a houseboat, check on the inventory so you will know if you need to bring toiletries.

4. Household items. You should also check on the inventory for household items the houseboat company provides. Bring the things you need which are not included on the list. You may need to bring trash bags, dishwashing soaps, detergent soap, lighter, match or butane match.

5. Items for outdoor recreational activities. This depends on the type of outdoor activities you like to do. If you will go fishing, prepare everything you need, and do not forget your fishing license. Pack some floaties, beach balls, and other water toys. You must also bring your water shoes, scarfs, swimsuits, beach hats, visors, caps, scarfs, sunscreen, sunglasses, and binoculars. Never forget to bring a digital camera or video camera so you could capture all the wonderful memories you will create during your Whitsunday cruise. If you can obtain an underwater camera, that would be better.
