Who Hangs Out in Playgrounds
It is often assumed that playgrounds are for kids. This assumption is not wrong, playgrounds are for kids, but they aren't only for them. Here are a 5 groups of people who spend time in playgrounds and what they do when they're there.Playgrounds are for:1. Children:Children are the most obvious group of people who would be found in a playground. Playgrounds tend to have most of the facilities that homeowners do not, including jungle gyms, bars, swings, tires and more. Children can run around and experiment with various types of equipment, developing their balance, hand-eye coordination, ability to share and so on.2. Parents:Of course, young children tend not to go to the playground by themselves, their parents come along too. On a nice sunny day, it's not uncommon to see several mothers sitting around chatting in the grass (often with babies in their laps), while their kids run around and play together. A lot of parents make their closest friends while supervising their children.3. Teenagers:The thing about playgrounds is that the things that we do in them never seem to get old. Teenagers still love slides and swings and the rest of it. In fact, I'm sure most teenagers experienced their first kiss on a swing, or went on a date that ended up with them hanging out in the playground.4. Dogs:Playgrounds tend to be a big hit amongst dog walkers. Most playgrounds have a large amount of grass where dogs can run around without a leash. It's very common to see single adults huddled up, drinking their morning coffee, talking about what's going on in the community, while their dogs sprint out all of their energy.5. Students:Of course playgrounds on campus, while generally open to the public outside of school hours, are meant for students. It is the place they escape to between classes, it is the place where they go and exert all of their energy, it is the place where they experience their most embarrassing as well as greatest moments. Playgrounds are where life happens for young students.Evidently playgrounds are where many of life's greatest and most challenging moments take place. They are a place to exert energy and try new things, as well as a place to take a break and have a chat. Playgrounds should therefore be equipped with benches to sit on, tables to eat off of, and shelters to rest underneath.
