Who's playing at the Liverpool Summer Pops Festival?

Liverpool's influence on the world of popular music is well-documented

, with one of the city's most famous exports being the Fab Four. This year's festival has already seen the likes of Rod Stewart taking to the stage at the Echo Arena, proving that old rockers never die with a mix of classic hits and choice cuts from his new Top 10 album Soulbook.

Other notable acts at this year's festival, which has firmly established itself as one of Europe's leading music events, include world-class tribute bands Zappa Plays Zappa and the Australian Pink Floyd Show. The latter famously recaptures everything that was so enthralling about the prog rock band's live shows in the 1970s and 80s, introducing new generations to their music in a performance of great music, lasers and pyrotechnic effects.
