Why Am I So Tired? - Reasons Behind Weakness
Fatigue is not that easy to diagnose and understand
. There are too many things associated with it and there are a lot of definitions for it. Some people define tiredness as the condition wherein the body feels weak. Some people think that being sleepy all day is tiredness. While others feel that they are not tired yet until they are down to their beds unable to work anymore because of too much exhaustion.
The real topic that should be given attention to is the reason why people experience this so-called fatigue. People should realize the different factors associated with it as well as the possible cures for feeling exhausted.
The first thing that we are going to talk about is sleep. Sleep is one of the main factors associated with weakness and tiredness. How much sleep do people need? This is a question that is still being debated about by different researchers. According to some studies, infants and toddlers need long hours of sleep to develop and avoid getting tired. The sleeping hour ranges from 14 to 16 for one whole day including naps. Children in their elementary years, on the other hand, need about 10 hours of sleep. As people age, less sleep is necessary because the body is already fully developed. But this does not mean that you can ignore sleep and deprive your body of it. For adults, eight hours of sleep is the standard but it often depends on the person. Some people get by with only 6 hours of sleep while others need about 8 to 9 hours to have energy the next day.
Another important thing that should be discussed about tiredness is the iron level in the body. Iron is an essential mineral for the red blood cells because they make the cells healthy and they keep the level of hemoglobin regulated. If a person lacks in iron, a condition called anemia will most likely occur which can develop into leukemia if not given attention to. This is a medical condition that results in tiredness because it lack of iron means lack of hemoglobin and unhealthy red blood cells. When the red blood cells are unhealthy, the transportation of oxygen and other essential nutrients in the body slows down and become inefficient.
Metabolism should also be given utmost attention in understanding tiredness. This is the process in the body which converts the food you eat to energy. It is the process of breaking down food into useful materials and the process of absorbing the nutrients to be used by the body. When the metabolism is slow, it will not only make you tired but it will also promote weight gain because fats that should be converted into energy are being stored instead. There are many ways to improve the metabolism of people and one effective way is by eating breakfast. A hearty and healthy breakfast is important. You may also ask advice from your doctor on the different ways on how you can improve your metabolism.
