Many people are confused while taking a decision whether to build a blog
, a site or both. They are confused because they don't know the difference between the two.
A website is anyplace you can view online with URL - Domain name and lets you view content. So fundamentally EVERYTHING on the net is a website!
Blogs generally have a simple interface & posts and the latest content is at the top of the page.
Blogs are similar to websites but they are more effective than a website. When I was a beginner I started affiliate marketing using a blog on the internet, than I purchase a domain name and added content in it with several products and I tried to make my website look professional. I made my first sell and got a pay check, but I found it really very hard when I was working on my website. but when I was using blog before website I found that optimizing a blog was pretty simpler that a website, my marketing efforts were less when I was using an affiliate blog. I also noticed that search engines loves blogs more than a website. So I came to a conclusion that blogs are more effective than a website. For newbie blogging is a great way to get started.
There are 2 famous blogging platforms, one is wordpress and other one is blogger - Blogger is owned by Google. If we compare both Wordpress have many features than that of Blogger. I am using both wordpress as well as blogger.
One thing you must know, even if you get a best template for your website and added all the things that is required to make a website look professional, you cant make it as attractive as blog. They are pretty good for affiliate marketing. People loves to read blog and most importantly Google loves blogs - if your blog is created properly with lots of blog posts and pages, than your blog will be ranked well in Google. One of the reason Google gives first preference to blog is because they are constantly changing and having some new thing added in it.
So blogs have the ability to act better than a website in the internet world, but you have to keep your blog updated and add content to it - give some time to your blog. Thanks for reading.
