Why Divorce Just Became Easy - Getting Divorced Online

When I was younger, a friend of mines parents got

, shock, horror - divorced. Believe it or not, and I'm not that old, it was a big deal in the village where I lived. Divorce just didn't happen so much back then.

Fast forward 30 years, and it seems like everyone is getting divorced, had a divorce or is heading towards a divorce. Sometimes it feels like there are more divorces than there are marriages - go figure?

So perhaps unsuprisingly, it came about that you can actually get divorced on the internet. No need to go and sit across the desk from an unreasonably priced solicitor and go through the pain and hurt that used to be your marriage. So far so good.

However, online divorce is not for everyone. This should be stressed. There are real quantifiable benefits to getting a divorce processed online, which i'll list a little further down, but it may not be the solution for every couple.

If there is any estate to contest, custody to fight over, cars and finances to argue through, then an online divorce is not for you. To make sure that anything along these lines is processed properly, it is well worth the cost of using a qualified High Street solicitor.

However, if your divorce is amicable and uncontested, as so many are these days, then lets look at why an online divorce could be suited to you.

Firstly, the cost of getting divorced online is a fraction of the cost of a traditional divorce. Typically, you will save around $1000. This is purely due to the time and the process involved.

Online, you just have to complete a questionnaire, the website operators do all the rest. There's a bit of posting to sign, and thats it, the jobs done.

So its also far more efficient than a traditional divorce. No need to take time of work to visit a solicitor, it can be done 24 hours a day from the comfort of your own home.

There's also the support to think about. A lot of online divorce services offer a 7 day a week support service, which comes free of charge. If you had the same support from a solicitor, you would be faced with lengthy waits on the phone, numerous messages left with his secretary - and of course a hefty bill for the privilege.

Maybe the biggest benefit for those seeking a divorce, of doing it online, is it's all done quickly, efficiently and although inevitably still painful, surely less so.
