Back in 2007 Duquesa had everything going for it and looked like the new place to be with so much going for it
. Roll on 3 years and place is a desolate ghost town with many international businesses going bust daily, property prices dropping through the floor but why?
The answer to that particular question has its roots back in 2007 and the height of the Spanish property boom. The reality there were people who could no longer afford to live in Marbella and were strongly attracted to he more sedate Casares and Duquesa which had a lot going for it such as the wonderful new 5 star golf course Dona Julia Golf which was going to be home to new Hyatt Hotel and surprise surprise its no longer a Hyatt Hotel and the major developer of the Golf Course Evamarina has gone by the wayside.
The property recession really hit Duquesa hard with people who were thinking of buying in Duquesa because they couldn't afford to buy in Marbella are now again able to afford to buy in Marbella and in great number they are choosing to do so. This means all those extra potential property buyers for Duquesa have just evaporated into Marbella thus leaving a huge whole that cant be filled and no new property owners has a knock on effect for all the new businesses that were set up thinking this was going to be a Boom area.
So what is the future for Duquesa real estate or does it have one at all. The short answer is if you are attracted by wanting peace and tranquillity and don't mind living in a ghost town then for sure you can grab yourself a real Spanish property bargain. There is a huge amount of oversupply of property and you can strike quite a great deal. However bear in mind it could be a good 5 years before new people come in to clear out the ghosts
