Why Do We Wear Shoes?

Many people take shoes for granted, there was a time in human history when shoes

werent worn but due to a step in human development they are now used to protect feet from the cold and rough ground.

Originally when shoes were invented they werent the most stylish of shoes, instead they were thought to be just animal skin or fur wrapped around their feet. It wasnt until around 1629 that a simple thing such as a shoe for your left and right foot was differentiated. This might seem hard to imagine but at some point many moons ago people did wear the same shoe on each foot.

Over time the shoe has enormously varied and adapted according to its culture and functionality. For men they dont just have the option of wrapping a piece of animal skin around their foot but they can now browse round a selection of trainers, boots, loafers, sandals and many more.

There is so much more attentions to detail in this day and age, when creating a classic shoe you have to think about the lacing, tongue, heel, lining, insole, outsole and so on to manufacture the perfect shoe. This process is very much different to when the shoe was first created, we now invent things like shoes not because we need to, but because we can, it makes life comfortable and easier.

There is a wide range and variation of different shoes, most of them being designed for specific activities. For example loafers are mainly designed for going out wear, boots are for protecting your feet and trainers were originally designed for sportswear.
