Why I Prefer A Wall Street Journal Subscription

I have to admit, I was once intimidated by the idea of reading a financial newspaper. After all, I would often feel baffled just listening to market analysts on TV channels like CNBC. Today, I no longer feel this way, and I'm proud to say that nowadays I even have a Wall Street Journal subscription.

As you might guess, I previously did not expect myself to ever become someone who would read the Wall Street Journal on a regular basis. I had always assumed such a paper was too specialized for someone like me to understand. That all changed when I was in an office one day, and it was the only thing on the table available for me to read. So on a whim, I picked it up and began reading.

It was then that I realized tthat he paper was quite easy to read. Much of the news covered by the paper is not necessarily financial. In fact, I would say a great portion of coverage contains standard news stories, even though there is a noticeable financial slant. And the coverage and stories were all generally excellent. I began to realize at that point that the Wall Street Journal was a good overall newspaper, and by no means intended just for people who wanted financial coverage.

But at $2.00 an issue, I felt it was still too expensive for me to read on a regular basis. Again, I was wrong. But as it turns out, a Wall Street Journal subscription is actually quite affordable. Prices start at just $2.29 a week, with online digital editions costing even less. The cost is in fact a lot less than what many local papers in my area charge. Therefore, I was sold, and went ahead and got a subscription.

Based on my own experiences, I think everyone should check out the Wall Street Journal, despite what your initial impressions may be. .
