Why I Should Become A Medical Transcriptionist

To become a medical transcriptionist would be an answer to my prayers. In 2007 my beautiful son, Travis, was born. At the time, I was working as an assistant at a local engineering firm. After his birth, I had every intention of going back to work full time and leaving my son in day care. However, this was much easier said than done. I went back to work for two weeks and cried every day. I then gave my two weeks notice to my employer, and two weeks later I became a stay at home mom. Words cannot explain how much it means to me to be able to stay home with my son. The thought of someone else practically raising him, and teaching him the things that a mother should, is unthinkable. I feel it is a mother's responsibility to be her childrens' first teacher. There are some things that cannot be learned in a daycare.
Going from a household with two full time incomes to one has been a hard transition. On paper, all of our bills are paid every month, but there is no room for extras. When something unexpected occurs (as it so often does with children) it has to go on a credit card. Because of this we have racked up a lot of debt. While I love staying at home with my son, not contributing financially has put a burden on my shoulders. If I became a medical transcriptionist it would give me the huge advantage of being able to stay home with my son (and his brother -due to arrive in May) while also contributing to our household expenses. I don't regret the decision that my husband and I have made for me to stay at home, but it has caused severe stress on our finances.
I would like to train with Future MT because it has a reputable medical transcription online course and is backed by the Better Business Bureau. Not having to spend thousands of dollars toward tuition, books, and equipment like other medical transcription schools is huge! Most institutions charge so much for education that the student is more worried about paying off student loans after graduation than they are about their education. With Future MT, I feel I will be able to concentrate on completing goals, rather than financing them. Also after enrolling I will have access to uncountable resources to help my education. I also appreciate the flexibility of doing the course work on my own time, with a two year old and another on the way this advantage is huge! After completing my education with Future MT, I would like to find employment with a company that will allow me to work from home. Working from home is my main goal. Being a mother is the most important thing I've ever done, or will do. But to also be able to contribute financially would be a dream come true! Life isn't about going to an Ivy League school, working your way up the corporate ladder only to realize a little to late that you've missed the point. We were put on this earth to serve and love God and to serve and love each other. I feel that your institution is helping people do just that.
