Why Internet Users Hate Prepaid Dial-up Connections?
Do you remember how the internet started to attract people
? In the first three to five years of the twenty-first century, internet service providers have introduced dial-up connection to the public. This is the type of connection that your modem needs to dial-up to the internet service provider in order to access the internet. Sometimes, it is very annoying for a customer to use this type of internet connection, because of low speed and poor response from the provider's database in terms of transmission. Dial-up connections are in the midst of their system with the use of prepaid cards. Usually, prepaid cards are purchased in any retailed outlets like mini-stores and malls. These cards have their own corresponding amounts which were loaded by the number of hours to access the internet. For example, when a customer purchased a five dollar prepaid card, it allows them to use fifteen hours on the internet. Each prepaid card has their own expiration, that the customer must be aware of it. If they are not aware of the expiration time of the card they bought, the credits will automatically be emptied without notice.
It is very important for a customer to know about the expiration date of prepaid cards. The internet service provider or the retailer cannot be blamed if you are not aware of your card's expiration date. The customer needs to add a modem to their network settings and it needs installation. It is very easy for us to install a modem, which needs you to plug the telephone's wire cable to the port of your computer in order to be connected. There are many disadvantages when you are using the dial-up connection. The first disadvantage would be the speed. If you compare between the speed of a regular modem and the broadband internet, their gap is way too far. For dial-up modems, they might give you a low average of two digit kilobytes per second. It annoyed lots of internet users when they want to search or download something. Speed is very important for every user who loves to surf and download. Music, movies, eBooks, digital images, software and online games are one of the most common things to download in the internet. Not only it is good for downloads, but it is useful for online businesses who are dealing with their customers through live chat.
It is not suitable for an online business to have a dial-up connection, because it is a huge delay for them when it comes to transactions and inquiries from their customers. Another disadvantage would be the manual connectivity. When a user wants to access the internet, it needs them to click the dial-up option and enter the details of their internet service provider. On the other hand, there is no need for you to do manual connections when using the broadband internet. As you turn on your computer, you will be connected automatically to the internet. This is how internet users are no longer interested on using dial-ups, and they hated it. This type of connection is only good for cheap internet users, but they are no match to the speed and quality of the broadband internet.
