If you are a golfer, then you would be quite familiar with this question

. Mostly you would be questioned by non golfers about the expense and why this is such an expensive game as they do not have any idea about the spending. To be frank, golf is not a cheap game but it is not very expensive either. Golf does require some investment in the beginning. The reason why I am saying it as an investment is because you are rewarded if you succeed in leaning and playing this game. Only a handful of people end up being a golfer and not quitting in the middle.

Another good reason people want to spend so much in golf is because of the social networking. I do not know any better place where you can meet people to make business contacts. You can find many good friends and customers and the amount which you can earn by doing business with them will be far more that what you have spent on this game. I am sure most people who have played golf even once would agree with my above point. This single reason is good enough for people to enter the world of golf. You also get to meet people who can come in handy with your needs.

Let me explain why golf is considered so expensive.

When you decide to play, then you definitely need golf clubs and there is no way to avoid that. However you can still look for used golf clubs as they cost a lot lesser than new ones. You can easily find them in local stores and online shops.

Another golf accessory is golf shoes. You will be standing and walking for many hours on your feet so you should not compromise on golf shoes and get the best you can afford.

The above two are the major expenses. Other included golf balls, gloves, glasses, golf hates etc which definitely doesnt need to be the expensive ones.

Another long term expense is the fees. You will need to join a golf club if you want to play and the few ranges from 20 bucks and can go up to 1000 depending on the golf course. Then again you have to spend some after the game to participate in the events after the game where you can socialize and make the most from this game.

If you are a complete beginner, then you will have to spend some amount on taking golf lesson to at least achieve an average playing ability and compete with people at the golf course.

These are the basic expenses but once you are addicted to the game, I am sure you would want to get the latest clubs, branded balls and other stuff related to golf. Some expenses such as being a member of golf club and getting training can be avoided if you choose to install a golf simulator in your house.
