A playground for the rich and famous, Dubais attracted millions of visitors over recent years and its popularity has sky rocketed

. Not only was its reputation drawn sky high but also its buildings. With the worlds tallest building being erected, Dubai seems to feel the need to voice its grandeur and magnitude to the world.

Flaunting its success maybe a little too early, Dubai has taken a devastating hit this year with the credit crunch taking hold and construction coming to a halt. Celebrities grew concerned as their investments were going down the pan, swirling out of control into the southern direction.

This sparkling faade soon shifted as worries arose as to whether or not the structure was safe. Adding to the publics concerns, only weeks after its impressive opening, the skyscraper unexpectedly closed leaving expectant visitors disappointed.

In recent months weve heard more and more bad press coming from the UAE in cases where Britons have been arrested and jailed for carrying small amounts of drugs, showing affection to one another whilst in the public eye and drinking or being drunk in public areas.

These stringent laws are a huge deterrent for possible visitors as the law there is so strict, wheres the fun in holidaying there? The most recent couple to be publicly exposed for indecency charges after being reported to police for having a kiss on the lips, have been charged and sentenced to 1 month in jail. However, the couple are making an appeal as they deny kissing on the lips, saying it was nothing more than a peck on the cheek.
