Why Patagonia, North Face, And Ll Bean Dresses Are Great For Outdoorsy Women

The Patagonia company was created by an avid mountain climber and outdoorsman who

save a need for fashionable clothing for active people in a time when no one else was using bright colors and designs for outdoor wear. While mountain climbers started the company, the owners saw the need to create apparel for all active outdoor enthusiasts.

Patagonia has always been brave enough to venture into colors and styles that their competitors shy away from. Even in the 80s when all the outdoor apparel was either tan, green or blue - Patagonia was designed in seafoam, teal, red and iced mocha colors.

However, it is not the colorful designs that made Patagonia so well respected, but the quality materials used for their clothing. This has always meant that both hard core adventurers and casual hobbyists find something to appreciate in the Patagonian clothing line.

Here I will discuss not only Patagonia but NorthFace, and LLC Bean which make pretty good comparable dresses.

Patagonia Morning Glory Dress

The Morning Glory dress is great for dressing both up and down. You can wear it on its own for a night out with the girls or a casual first date. You can also throw it over some swimwear for a day at the beach. There is a tie in the back to adjust the dress' waistline. The fabric is thick - similar to a swim suit. The length of the dress runs to right below the knee.

North Face Dresses

The North Face website does not offer much in the way of dresses and skirts, but many retailers carry their convertible and travel dresses. The North face dresses are affordable and offer quite a bit in comfortable and portability. The Kayla Wrap Dress is particularly appealing with its floral design on the skirt. However, much of the North Face offerings are dull and lifeless and do not make the cute fashion statement that a Patagonia dress does.

LL Bean Dresses

While LL Bean is a company that designs outdoor apparel for men, its selection of outdoor wear for women is minimal. They do have a small offering of skirts that are great for tennis, walking trails or hanging out at the beach. They have one shirt dress that could easily be used as beach outerwear. However, the Patagonia dress line has many more options that are cute, comfortable and practical.

So as you can see all three focuses on the outdoorsy type, and all do a good job in terms of marketing to their strengths and giving what their customers are looking for. So if you're an outdoorsy gal you might want to consider anyone of these brands.
