Why Patients Should Only Seek Help From A Licensed Acupuncturist

There are common diseases that can be treated by regular physicians

. Household ailments, like the regular cold and fever, can be easily addressed by your friendly family doctor. However, there are certain diseases that are very complicated. Such complex diseases may require the help of a specialist.

One such specialist is a Licensed Acupuncturist. Recently viewed as a frivolous form of Eastern medicine, acupuncture is now recognized as an effective curative treatment for various complicated diseases that conventional Western medicine cannot effectively address without the help of synthetic drugs. Many scientific studies have already proven acupuncture's efficacy on relieving back pains, an ailment which usually requires powerful analgesic drugs. Acupuncture has also been proven to effectively treat paralysis due to stroke.

There is no doubt: acupuncture is really an effective treatment for many medical conditions. However, acupuncture can only be done properly and effectively by a Licensed Acupuncturist. A person cannot call himself an acupuncturist by simply watching instructional Internet videos and reading acupuncture books. Acupuncture is a specialized discipline that requires practitioners to undergo through extensive training from accredited acupuncture schools. Many of these acupuncture schools also have intensive training in traditional Chinese medicine.

Recently, an acquaintance of mine has asked my opinion on Chiropractors and Medical Doctors who have been practicing acupuncture after attending several weekend acupuncture seminars. As a Licensed Acupuncturist, I am concerned about the seriousness of the matter and would encourage everyone to seek out a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) only.

Although Chiropractors and Medical Doctors are qualified to treat ailments, they may not be able to provide effective acupuncture treatment to patients. Let us put it this way: if you have a congenital eczema and you suffer a sudden bout of itchiness, would you go to an orthopedist instead of a dermatologist? The obvious answer is a big NO.

If you are looking for an effective acupuncture treatment program, then you should, by all means, seek the services of a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.). You will be certain that you will not put yourself at risk if you consult a Licensed Acupuncturist. A Medical Doctor may be authorized to practice acupuncture if they have completed 200 credit hours of acupuncture practice. Licensed Acupuncturists, on the other hand, have already taken acupuncture courses for 3-4 years and may have more than 3,000 credit hours of acupuncture and Chinese medicine practice.

And having extensive hours of acupuncture practice may mean a lot. A Licensed Acupuncturist thoroughly knows the human body and all acupuncture points. Pain caused by a needle or needles inadvertently left in the skin would never occur if your acupuncturist is a licensed one.

Life is precious. If you are seeking acupuncture treatment, see to it that you go to a Licensed Acupuncturist.
