That means that you will be much slower for a few months, but will increase your speed significantly after.
There is only one way to learn, you need to practice diligently and commit yourself to typing properly. There are some softwares that are helpful in learning how to type properly. They make it a more fun experience and it teaches you the proper fingers to use in a particular key. It also helps you memorize they keyboard. Starting out in small significant steps you would be able to master the keyboard.
