Why You Must Have Exercise And Diet To Get The Body You Want
If you want to live a healthy and long life, you will need to be mindful of two things: diet and fitness
. Some people think they are one and the same thing, But they are very wrong. You can eat a healthy diet and still have very bad fitness habits. You can also be physically fit, and eat nothing but junk food.
You can lose your unwanted weight through diet alone. However, it is much more difficult to lose weight this way. You can also be physically fit and still have a few excess pounds on your body. After all we are what we eat. It is an old saying, but largely true.
If you eat a diet high in fat and with few vegetables your body won't have the fuel it needs to burn your fat. If you don't give your body the tools it needs to build muscle (aka proper nutrition) it won't matter how much you work out.
As far as diet and fitness goes, you get the best results when you join the two together. Your fitness routine is meant to burn excess calories while your diet is meant to supply your body with the proper nutrients and energy it needs to build muscle.
Now I don't know about you, but I would much rather my body weight be made up of muscle than fat. Don't forget you can't build muscle through dieting alone. If you wish to get physically fit and look your best you will have to get some exercise. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but true nonetheless.
You should be aware that as you are building you will also be shedding inches of fat without it showing on your scale. You will know this is happening when you get on the scale without seeing a difference in body weight but your waistband is looser. A very good feeling indeed.
In other words, don't measure you progress just by the bathroom scale. Take your waist measurement when you are first starting on your diet and fitness program. This way, if you don't see any difference on the scale, you can measure your waist and see how many inches you have lost.
Measure your success by how you feel after climbing a flight of stairs not by how many pounds fell of the scale this week.
If you include fitness into your diet program you will also help your body to burn off the extra calories you might have eaten during the day. This way, if you want to cheat a little on your diet, you can make up for it by working off the extra calories by exercising that night. You should not cheat on your diet every day but it is okay once in a while.
When you combine diet and fitness, you can create incredible weight loss results if you take them both seriously. Just remember that neither one works as well alone and neither will work unless you are willing to do the work. If you want to achieve the best results possible, you will have to make this a priority in your life.
